Perilous times in Iraq - 2006, make it or break it year

"Times are perilous in Iraq.

The Sunnis and the Shia Secularists (uppercase because this seems to be a movement that has taken on a life of its own) have not let up in their lambasting of the as yet unannounced elections results.

Enter UN official who said the elections were fair and there was no need for a cancellation.

Fire back Sunni officials: "You can't verify the results or monitor electoral conduct from behind the fortified walls of the Green Zone."

Ouch."
