Kurdistani Alliance: Widespread cheating in Iraqi elections in Turkey

"London (TheKurdistani.com) – The main Kurdistani list participating in the Iraqi elections filed a complain against the results of the Iraqi elections in Turkey, Behroz Galali, the representative of the Kurdistan regional government in Ankara told the Kurdish section of Voice of America.

Behroz Galali said that they (the Kurdistani Alliance) have filed a complain to the Higher Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq regarding the results of the Iraqi elections in Turkey.

Behroz Galali said that according to Iraqi and United Nations statistics the number of Iraqis living in Turkey is estimated to be 6000. “During January’s elections the numbers of the participants in the Iraqi elections in Turkey were about 4178 voters. But in December this number drastically increased to 22800 in Istanbul only” Galali said.


The number of voters in Ankara was around 2322 voters. According to Behroz Galali, the number of those who voted for the Kurdistani Alliance in Ankara was just 44, while the number of the Kurdish officials present in Ankara and voted in the Iraqi elections are over 53."
