Are We God's Country?

"“We have strayed. God has been punishing us for our wicked ways. We have forgotten his word. This is the ONLY constitution we need.” I watched a man many years ago say this from a makeshift pulpit in Miami. He waved his Bible as he screamed and frothed at the crowd. This man was espousing the virtues of America’s Christian past. How Christian was our past when the Founders were wise enough to make a secular government. How Christian was our past when we had slave laws and subjugated women as social policy…or are those Christian values."
