ugandan flattery

"protecting many of our common areas are ugandans with m-16s. here is one who stands in front of the DFAC each day. when i first got here, i couldn’t figure out why the military was so interested in protecting its food. then, i figured out that it instead wants to protect areas where many troops congregate. so, these guys check our IDs at the theater and DFACs, make sure our weapons do not have clips in them, and prohibit bags.

last time i was at the pool, i swam to the end of the lap and saw a ugandan in my lane resting. he asked me how many years i had been competing. this made me chuckle, as i could barely freestyle when i got here (he’d just watched me breaststroke across the pool)."
