LCN

America TV La Cosa Nostra a show on local TV which is usually a sort of SNL/porn/striper show is tonight doing politics, mostly the embargo and the restriction on travel.
The people that are usually laughing are on the TV crying about the situation in Cuba. And it shows I think better than any other show the deep divide that exist here in the Cuban community. The right and the left divide that I think only helps and reinforces the regime grip on power. It's sort of like the deep rift that has grown between me and Val of Babalu Blog.

Which I can see clearly now is an epidemic in our community.

The show's position tonight which is run mostly by people that have arrived recently here to the US seems to be the same as mine, that the community should be on the island to help effect change. that the embargo should end and that all restrictions should be eliminated.

Many of these people being recent arrivals may even have a better chance at getting close to the Cubans on the island that have never seen the outside world, than many of us that have never even been there or left many years ago.

What actually got me to start writing this was that the show was running text on the bottom of the screen, and it could have written by me, telling the Cubans that soon we will be there to back them up. I hope plenty of people on the island saw tonight's show.
