US Launches Second Operation in Western Iraq

"In Washington Friday, the U.S. Senate confirmed the appointment of the new American ambassador to Iraq - Zalmay Khalilzad, an Arabic speaker and Muslim who was born in Afghanistan and has served the United States in many senior positions.

Ambassador Khalilzad has vowed to help restore security and stability to Iraq."
