IED Hunting In Fallujah

"Blogger Bill Ardolino's "In Iraq Journal" goes on a patrol with "Team Bravo" and provides some tips on hunting IEDs on Route Mobile in Al Anbar province.

Lumbering down MSR Mobile in their 27 ton "Gators" Bill gets tips on looking for IEDs during thew 7 hour dawn to dusk patrol from Fallujah:

- Most IEDs are planted by poor farmers for as little as $5 dollars - Insurgents like to put IEDs in previous blast holes

- Watch for parked cars with tires pointed towards the road in case they dart out and explode.

Despite the teams diligence, Ardolino reports that a sister convoy is hit by IEDs the same day."
