Al-Qaeda does not exist in Pakistan & Afghanistan: Rustam Shah
PESHAWAR: Former Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Rustam Shah Mehmand has said that Al-qaeda network has been dismantled and it does not exist in Pakistan nor Afghanistan.
Talking to a private T.V channel, former Pakistan’s ambassador however admitted that a number of militant organizations after Iran and Afghanistan war have emerged and are operating for the accomplishment of their nefarious designs by using the name of Al-Qaeda. The statement of Pakistan’s foreign office should be seen in this context, he added.
Commenting on the current worsening situation of Afghanistan, former ambassador said that Taliban’s attacks have been continued for the last nine months, adding that now these attacks have been intensified.
Rustam Shah Mehmand while giving his views about recent surge in Taliban’s attacks said that not only Taliban remnants but common people of Afghanistan and people loyal to Hikmat Yar are also involved in these attacks.
