Iraq and the Sinister Clerics

""Among politicians the esteem of religion is profitable; the principles of it are troublesome." Benjamin Whichcote.

Sounds familiar? Well it does sound familiar to me. I'm not big on Marx, I think Marxism is another idiology from which totalitarianism emerges...sounds good in theory but it just sucks in terms of application. One thing that he didn't get wrong is that "Religion is the Opium of the people" though. The point there is not making religion sound bad, but simply telling a fact. In states where religion is the foundation of laws, every single action that is taken is usually justified, or rather blamed on God. It's like the cloth-rack where everything is hung. And when things go wrong, it's just God's will.
God didn't say stand at the mouth of cannon and marvel whether it is his will that you die when the cannon is fired, or not!"
