Almost Normal In Beaumont

"The immigrants' boycott was quiet in Beaumont. I woke up this morning to the sound of lawn mowers. The landscape company works at our apartment complex on Mondays. So, there wasn't any boycott here.

Most Mexican restaurants were open except for two that we saw closed. Guadalajara Mexican restaurant had a sign saying their air conditioning was broke, and they'll be closed on May 1st. Nice coincidence :-)

Elaina's Mexican restaurant was closed too. The sign said they were closed in support of the May 1st boycott."

Well I have to come clean, I worked, and the business was open, but we closed the doors and parked our cars in the back to make it look like we were closed.
