Erbil court sentences Dr. Kamal Sayd Qadir for 30 years in prison

"London (TheKurdistani.com) – A Kurdish critic of the Kurdistani president was sentenced for 30 years in prison, several Kurdish websites reported today.

A court was set up this morning in the city of Erbil for the trial of the Dr. Kamal Sayd Qadir, a critic writer of Massoud Barzani, the Kurdistani president. According to several Kurdish websites, the court has sentenced Dr. Kamal Sayd Qadir for 30 years in prison for “disgracing the Kurdish leadership and their struggle”, for the crime of writing “inappropriate articles”, for the crime of swearing at the Barzani tribe based on the laws of the Kurdistan regional government."
