Al-Sistani rejects federal states in Iraq except for Kurdistan

"London (TheKurdistani.com) 30/06/05: The Shitte grand Ayatollah, Ali al-Sistani has allegedly rejected calls by Iraqis to establish a southern federal state in southern Iraq, the US-sponsered global Arabic radio, Radio Sawa reported today.

Raio Sawa said that sources in United Iraqi List have said that Ayatollah al-Sistani has rejected the establishment of federal states in Iraq with the exception for Kurdistan."
