Iraq Diary:23 - 26 May 2004.

"There are a few things I've been forgetting to write in. The other day 1SG Swift got schrapneled in the ass while jogging. Funny because he got nailed with a rock in the forehead while downloading mail not long ago. A rocket came in and landed about 60 or 70 feet away from the truck and didn't detonate. Two nights ago we had a little barrage near gate 2 of about 5 mortars. I was sitting in tower 17 with Joe watching it. Also the president of the governing council was killed in a suicide blast. Everyone is waiting for civil war on the 30th of June. Let's see if the Hajj has it in him. I'm really disappointed in him. I was expecting Vietnam style furor and dedication."
