Wow the pictures coming in from Haiti are truly heartbreaking, the dead and the rubble everywhere, people waking around in a dazed look on their blood stained faces. I can only imagine that the worst is still to come in the coming days as people succumb to infection and disease. Our prayers go out to the affected.

If you really want to help them, send them the writings of Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Edmund Burke, etc. and send them weapons. You could spend 100 billion in Haiti and it would still be a sewer dotted with palaces filled with dopers and hookers. Yes, we have to help them in the emergency, but honestly, many of them might be better off dead. They don't stand on each others shoulders in those rafts trying to get here for nothing.
That is probably why we are sending help, to keep them all from coming here. But let me tell you I know a few Haitians, and they are hard working people, not like the locals at all. These people work hard study hard and achieve. I remember years ago when the black neighborhoods looked like Lebanon during the civil wars you would drive into the Haitian areas and be transported to a middle class neighborhood like any other in Miami.
Whatever makes Haiti like that it's not the people, at least not the ones I know.
I have only known two Haitians in my life, and they too were hard working admirable people. The problem is, those who are willing to sacrifice for ambition and risk everything for liberty come HERE, and the rest are mired in slavery to thugs. It's a lot like many other countries in this neighborhood. We get some of their best and are stuck with lousy neighbors. Of course we have made it so easy for some (Mexicans) that we are no longer getting their best, we are also getting their worst.
"come HERE"
Actually you read my mind I was thinking the same thing, like us Cubans, anyone with the least ambition builds swims hitches, anything to get here, or anywhere. What's left behind or the derelicts of evolution.
So you see,... it's all you gringos fault, if it wasn't for you the world would be a great place.
