There went the cool Obama, Just turn to C-SPAN, and he's on TV yelling about how the sky will fall before the end of the week if we don't pass the bill. I have never seen this Obama, but he looks scared, to me. He's yelling and pointing back as is the Hans were at the door...Not good buddy not good at all.
I think if the Senate could delay just a week or two, Obama will surrender the bill.

Yep, he was doing his ML King imitation. You'd never know that the latest poll has 34% approval for his bill. I mean, c'mon, I won the election so anything I'm for, the American people are for! Made it sound as though 66% of us are just being ignorant and childish. He is an arrogant SOB. Thinks he can charm and bluster his way through. Now he's made the bill all about him, not the economy. It was very off putting for me, but I don't know about the rest of you.
I didn't like it at all. Standing there yelling like the world is about to end. I imagine it was designed to rally the troops and appeal to you guys, that love religion. I have to laugh, the guy is smart.

With the dissatisfaction out there for this ridiculous bill and the daily revelations that his 'people' are the same Washington elite he ran against, the last thing he needs to do is display arrogance as it falls down around his ears. He started that with Limbaugh and keeps digging the hole a little deeper. By the way, did you hear that there will be hearings on reinstating the Fairness Doctrine in Congress? They are making Hannity look like a prophet by being just as left wing crazy as he claimed they were. I bet within the month they will start looking at some gun control measures.

Your right, he's going to walk right into a door if he goes down the fairness, and gun control road. That will just fire up "you guys" like nothing could. So I doubt he'll try any of that before the next congressional election, he could lose the house if he tried that.
I don't qualify as a religious right wing fanatic. In fact, I don't even know a right wing fanatic that bases his political views on religious ground. I probably know some, but they have never brought up the subject with me. What makes you think I am religious? Is it because I don't think we should be murdering babies in the womb by poisoning or dismemberment?

Of course the details are important, but if they would do what McCain said, cut withholdings, and the brackets, it would put $50 - $150 extra dollars in people pay each week. That's more than enough to ward off foreclosure, or pay for that new truck, or the school uniforms, lots of stimulus. The government would not need to print or borrow one penny. People earn their paychecks, they create their own wealth. What we don't need is more redistribution.
The thing is I am not even against many of the new programs Obama is offering. I am for most of it. But I want it looked at and debated in the regular way in congress. Congress cant just push it's responsibility off on the executive and walk away. It's their job to build those programs. And obviously if now is not the time because we have major financial problem, then it's just not the time for most of that crap, no matter if I want it or not. I wish we could always have everything I wanted, but ...
And you know I find their argument so lame. The want to spend money on all this crap, he even said it today, "spending is what it is" as if any spending would work as stimulus. But wait a minuet, what about the trillion we just dropped on the war? How is that not "spending", how is that not stimulus? It odiously is. And if we just tried that and the economy is still in the ditch and falling then why exactly would just more spending fix it now. You think the economy knows this is Obama dollars as opposed to Bush's war dollars, and is going to respond differently?
My only question is, Who are these people, and what the fuck do they really want?
You know they are full of shit when they declare something must be done immediately and how we spend the money isn't the point---- and on the SAME DAY announce a 10% cut in military spending for new weapons and equipment. No, it isn't about politics, it's about the American people (who don't work in the military related industries, apparently). But, we did sign an increase in spending for orgs that abort brown babies around the world.
As Dear Leader yelled and laughed last night: giving tax cuts is what got us here. We can't just keep doing the same things that caused this mess to start with". Except that it worked for Kennedy, Reagan, Bush who had the most prosperous economies in history. What got us here was artificially boosting areas of the economy with politically motivated government programs and the natural resetting of the economy that always happens after extended periods of growth. If Dear Leader truly believes that taking people's money and spending it by buying hybrids for government, he is an idiot. What are they going to do with all the non hybrid cars? Well, they will auction them to people who will buy them instead of the used car up the street, driving down used car values making it more unlikely that citizens will trade in their old cars for new cars--- we only need so many cars, you know? Unless they are going to crush the government cars for scrap, how is buying new cars for government really supposed to help? And if they sell them for scrap, what about the scrap steel industry? Who is going to subsidize them when scrap prices hit rock bottom with even more oversupply? I guess they could sell them to China. As you said, just let people keep their money and let them support the parts of the economy that serve them. Government is the enemy.
Talking about what got us here, aren't people forgetting $142 per barrel petroleum, a price that shot up because manipulation of the futures markets? What short memories we seem to have.

Biden was better today. I'm watching Obama now, from his tone today, I think he's must have bin reading us yesterday.
What I don't understand today is why he wants us to give him the money first, and then seat this recovery advisory board? Shouldn't he seat the board and have them prepare a report, then go to congress with specific policy , or recommendations, or spending bills?
Why are they doing it ass backwards, pass bill, spend money, seat board? like someone else said, Ready..Fire..Aim..
