Obama spokesman says Gregg not involved in probe
WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House is downplaying the significance of the involvement of a former aide to Judd Gregg in a probe into a lobbying scandal.
Gregg was nominated this week by President Barack Obama to be commerce secretary.
According to a person familiar with the case, a former staffer described in court documents is Kevin Koonce, who worked as legislative director in Gregg's Senate office from 2002-04.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says Gregg himself is not a target or subject of any investigation about the employee. Gibbs pointed out that the staffer hasn't worked for Gregg since 2004.
A former deputy to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff said he plied the person known as "Staffer F" with sports tickets, meals and other gifts, and was given legislative favors in return. The person who said "Staffer F" was Koonce spoke on condition of anonymity because the case is under investigation.

Do you think it possible that Obama might know anyone not corrupt?
