"I’ve gotten quite a few e-mail inquiries over the past few months about the numerous complaints I’ve made regarding boredom. “Surely the Navy wouldn’t have sent you to Afghanistan if you weren’t needed” one writer asked. Another wondered if maybe the war was just in a “slow season” and was optimistic that it would “pick up soon.” A third opined that “every experience is what you make of it”, as if to insinuate that there’s more I could -or should- be doing."
