"As if the stupid agreement has actually been signed.What are the terms? Who the hell knows,apart from the fact that Iraq still hasn'tbeen given a chance to stand on its own two feet- the US army has to stay until 2011. Now, I'm not sure what I would have thought if they left completely, but reducing the numbers would have helped in my opinion. Exactly how is the ever looming presence of camouflage clad gun toting men and tanks going to help the atmosphere in Iraq? People here suffer resentment. resentment that every time we turn a corner stands a group of soldiers. Its not easy. Intimidating to say the least.
And the rest of Iraq's reaction? A unison of bombs. Great. Its only just been signed and look at the effects its having now. The close district of Karradah suffered attacks. Although our neighbourhood is mixed religion wise, barricades of rubbish are being put up at the top of streets again. And now, my dad is frantically calling relatives in Diyala making sure they aren't hurt. Again our visit to Baquba is denied."
