"Georgia launched a concerted propaganda campaign last month in a bid to sucker the West into defending the tiny country against Russian attacks that, according to some, Georgia had provoked by itself attacking Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia.

But in spinning the war as a case of naked Russian aggression, Tbilisi had help. There have been allegations that Reuters and Associated Press photographers staged dramatic photos of dead Georgian civilians in the town of Gori.
