Losing Sleep

"Its hard to get to sleep when they rocket us every three hours once the sun goes down. That's the intent, of course, but since I live in a tin-skin trailer I have little choice but to sprint for the impact shelters at the sound of the alarm. Or the sound of the first round going overhead, since the alarm seems to work only about half the time. I scraped my hand pretty good flying into the shelter this last time, and my once-broken ankle is getting pretty vocal in its complaints about the repeated flying dismount-turn-runs its getting put through when I leave the room. But after viewing what was left of the F Company trailers that got hit a few days ago, I'm not going to sit still and wait for the shell to land. We learned the hard way that these fine KBR shacks catch fire very easily, and burn fast. Luckily, it was midday-ish, so most of the rooms were empty. PFC H of my shop was one of the first guys on scene with a fire extinguisher. Fastest reaction I've ever heard of from him."
