Missions Complete

"When I mobilized with the 1016th, I had only been back in the states for 9 months after my first deployment. I didn’t know what to expect from Iraq, as I had only been to Kuwait previously. I knew it would be a bit more dangerous and more exciting.

The missions I’ve been on have been so different in so many ways. My first line haul was mail. We picked up two 40 foot containers of mail and took them to Camp Echo. The trip went well and without incident. That’s the way we like them. It was my first time to be the Logistics Convoy Commander. The LCC’s is responsible for the loads on the convoys. They insure the loads are picked up, and loaded securely and then dropped off at the proper location. Usually, there is a back haul for us to bring back to Tallil, so the same process is taken to ensure the loads get back safely too."
