Update from Jon - Update No. 26

"Happy New Year!

"Well the new year has arrived. 2006 passed and the world didn't end. And what better way to welcome in the new year than working all night!? That's right, just like Christmas, the new year came and went with not so much as a party popper going off. All in all it was a quiet night. The next few days were quite exciting really.

The other day I was walking home from work (I couldn't ride my handy dandy Jeep Cherokee bike due to the wet and muddy conditions) and walked outside to hear a rather intense firefight going on outside the perimeter wall. Occasionally, stray rounds come over the wall and hit our building or land in the water near it. So I didn't give too much thought about it. As I was walking parallel to the perimeter wall I heard a few rounds whizz over my head, however one round came strikingly close and struck a tree branch that happened to be about 3 feet above my head."
