Impressive, Most Impressive

"10 Jan 07

10,000 hits! Today I had my 10,000th hit. I know there are sites that get that many hits a day, but I’m still pleased. It’s a nice milestone to have achieved.

As though things weren’t cold enough, we are supposed to get hit by a nasty cold front tonight. Ironic, since today was a positively balmy 36 degrees F. It really felt warm! But tonight it is supposed to drop down to negative 4. “IMPRESSIVE. MOST IMPRESSIVE,” as Darth Vader might say. Even the British announcer on the radio station we listen to on the way to work was impressed. In the typically British method of understatement, he commented, “That’s not very warm, is it?” It will be interesting to see if any of our vehicles even start in the morning. In North Dakota we’d be plugging in the engine block warmers on our cars. Of course, we don’t have that option here."

Congratulations MadTom! WOOT! WOOT! I’ll have a few beers to celebrate your first 10,000th. You’re always welcomed to come by and have a few cold ones with me. Not to worry, you’re safe. All weaponry has been removed from my person (I was innocent I tell ya) and I’ve not bitten a man in months. Sure.

Hi Malcontent,

Dude that is not me, it's Afghanistan Without a Clue, a millblogger in Afghanistan that got his first 10,000.

I currently have 42,721 hits to date. but I have been going at it a lot longer than he has. I would guess that by the time he has as much time as me he will surpass me.

thanks for the invite, I'll be sure to take you up on it. I do like your blog, and your attitude, except when it comes to your opinions of "Hispanics" I am A Cuban American you know..But I am sure we could still get along.

That would be dudette, I have a vagina, well, I did when I awoke this morning. BTW, I wasn’t born in the USA but do feel strongly that since I came legally and worked quite hard to become a US citizen, all others should follow suit. (We women are bossy that way) I didn’t want handouts, I wanted a chance. Understand?

I stand corrected.

Pleased to make your acquaintance. I am curious where your from. I was born here in Miami from Cuban parents.
The "two" malcontents? Who is the other blogger?
Sorry for the twenty questions.

You know I am not convinced that people are looking for "handouts", I know many immigrants, some illegal, some on the fringe with some status, others, mostly Cubans, with full status, but all hard working people. Maybe it's different elsewhere, but around here the vast majority of the immigrate community are just looking for the yellow brick road like everyone else.

And then there are very large industries that hire illegal, legally! Why fault the little fish, and then let the big fish swim happily up stream?

You know every time the Immigration service wants to look good on TV with a big bust of dangerous illegal aliens, you know what they do? They stand at the exit gate of any number of construction sites, and card the workers.
WORKERS, public enemy number one. There easy to catch, because they go to work every morning, so you know where they are at. And there is no danger of violence.

You’re right Tom, these occasional side-show raids are simply for public consumption. It’s the ole; See? We are doing something, nonsense.

About the 20 questions: thang is Tom, you’re pals with the vehemently anti-American Ladybird and cohorts and it wouldn’t be wise (unless I wanted some crazy Saddamist shit stalking me) to give out more info.
I will say this: Discontent is the cumulative voices in my head. Thanks for asking.

Nevertheless, I do enjoy your site…even if you are a commie pinko. heh

I'm not sure I would characterize my relationship with Ladybird as "pals" but, you see she is one of the original Iraqi bloggers, and I have been arguing with her for the past 4 years, so there is a relationship, but I would say it's a professional one. I am not a commie, or a pinko. Those are fighting words around here. I may be a Democrat, and I do lean left on many issues, but not so far left as that. Non the less I respect your anonymity, and will not inquire any deeper. I too am anonymous, and I protect it with a passion.

Thank you much for reading, I appreciate it.

Shit, does she ever shut up!
About the hand-outs: Not all want hand-outs, indeed, but when you see people protesting in the streets and calling those like myself a racist because we think if you come to the US, you work and deal with the shit like the rest of us, you don’t get extra, you’re not special, or you’re not entitled to anything simply because…

Bottom line is, I don’t get a break and neither should they.

We vote issues and not party lines. We confuse many people (we average 6-10 K hits a day) because we’re pro-US military yet godless. That seems to throw many off kilter.

As far as my anonymity; I became a young widow (not Iraq) of an 18Z6R. Nuff said.

Tom,
I’m curious (pushy woman), are you pro-Castro?

Blogger madtom said...

NO, what do you mean Pro castro? Of course not. I am a card caring member of the Miami mafia, dedicated to bring democracy back to Cuba.

It's where my interest in the Iraq war stems, I blog to learn the lessons that there are to learn about this war and Iraq's transition from a dictatorship to a free democratic republic. I hope to one day take those lessons learned to Cuba when our turn comes.
I am not sure where your getting these impressions of me? But I am a big supporter of the Iraq war, to depose the dictator and bring democracy to Iraq and the ME.

Perhaps I’ve confused you with others that have posted on Ladyturd’s site.
How do you feel about Cindy Sheehan not mentioning a word about the political prisoners in Cuba’s prisons?

My parent’s neighbor, an amazing woman and doctor (now dead) literally fled with her children from Cuba where her husband died in a Cuban prison. She, btw, was never granted American citizenship; her children now grown have been. Our system is fucked up.

Very confused is how I would characterize Sheehan. I for one ignore her, for the most part I don't post Sheehan. I don't like the way she's treated, as the mother of a vet, and of course she brings a lot of it on herself, I don't like the way she acts as the mother of a vet.

I have not followed her trip to Cuba, and I don't know what she's doing there. If she is there to protest the Gitmo prison, I don't care, if she goes on to trivialize the plight of the Cuban people then she will have crossed a line with me.

When asked by the wives of political prisoners in Cuban prisons if she would help them, she told them NO! She’s only in Cuba to help those in GITMO.
