Maliki: Swinging in the Wind?

"In yet another measure of Nouri Al Maliki's tragicomic "leadership," the prime minister has now threatened to cut ties with nations that criticize Iraq’s brilliant handling of the Saddam Hussein execution. He issued his warning after several Muslim countries joined other nations and human rights groups in questioning the hanging. Egypt’s Husni Mubarak, for example, complained that the execution had turned Saddam into a "martyr." Britain’s finance minister called the hanging “deplorable.”

Maliki mused just the other day that he wished he could leave his job. "I wish I could be done with it even before the end of this term," he said.
and Maliki also said that he would prefer to serve the country outside the circle of senior officials."
