"Although Operation Iraqi Freedom is classified by most Americans as a war due to the President’s campaign of the War on Terrorism, Operation Iraqi Freedom is more of a peace keeping operation as it stands today. As most of you know, the 1016th Quartermaster Company arrived in Iraq on or around May 10, 2006. Even in the short time we have been here, things have taken a drastic change. We aren't starting to see the violence die down, however the theater seems to be going from a Forward Operating Base FOB in Iraq to a garrison environment in the United States. It's back to the basics."
