Early Trend

Well it's 6:30 and the news is reporting that the turnout for today's midterm election is big. There are reports of a 65% turnout in key districts. Which it would seem to mean that the independent voter has come out to play. There is still no word on who they will be supporting, we'll have to wait till at least 8:00 tonight to see the first returns. But whoever does win, it's nice to see the public participating in these important election.

It's already looking like a victory, a victory for American democracy. What else could anyone ask for.

Jon what do you know, Drudge is reporting conflicting results, he's got Webb ahead, but the Virginia page has Allen ahead?

Drudge is reporting that Sen Santorum is out in Pa.
Thank god for small miracles.
I think if nothing else changes I'm already happy, I hated that asshole with a passion. I could not be more happy to see someone lose a seat.

VA SEN [99.26% IN]
R- ALLEN 1,146,952 49.36%
D- WEBB 1,148,750 49.44%

MO SEN [3009 of 3746 IN]
R- TALENT 799,471 48.5%
D- MCCASKILL 812,038 48.7%

These numbers from Drudge would seem to suggest that the democrats have won 5 out of the 6 needed to take the senate...

The VA results are here. The winner won't be declared until Allen either concedes or a recount is done.

Those results seem to be in line with everything we have seen so far. I don't know that Allen is waiting for.
