Violence and US Elections

"There is a lot of talk these days about the level of violence in Iraq and the upcoming elections. Is it coincidence that the violence is escalating as the election draws nearer? Or is it a calculated effort to sway voters? And if that’s the case (which it is), which way are the terrorists trying to sway your vote?"
