I guess this is what it's come to in american politics.
The sad part is that it'll probably work.

To tell the truth I didn't see that, heard about it after the fact. Being Cuban and having seen some racial discrimination up close it did scare me a little once I did see it. I made a point that the struggle for equality is fight that we must all keep fighting, that it's never going to be over. That you have to be careful who you vote for, make sure that they believe in equality. I don't think GW was a racist. But it sure made it clear that there were still plenty left in the state, and that maybe not enough had been done by those in power to educate the whites and protect the minorities. Bloody chains have a way of reminding you where we come from, and how far we still need to go.

Not sure if this is an answer.
