Schoomaker) and his recent Staement of Readiness.You know I am all for supporting the troops, and all that, and being liberal I don't mind big government bills. But, big but, the last DoD budget was for 500 something billion?

What's up with that, that number did not even include the Iraq and afghan wars, that was just the budget. I have to ask, where did the money go?
When the current administration came to office the number was like 275 billion, so I think they upped the anty.
Does anyone out there know where that number should be?

But I wonder where the money really goes. I hear a lot of griping about the Clinton years, but the fact is that most if not all of the effect military hardware and units are Clinton babies. Like the great Stryker vehicle, something all you right wingers called a rolling fire ball when it was in development. Something about having pneumatic tires made it an easy target. I mean you guys could not have been more wrong. And am I on drugs, but wasn't it on Clintons watch when the emphasis on specially trained units was emphasized?
If I remember correctly it was Clinton that brought the missile defense project off the drawing board and into a reality. This administration has basically pushed the program back 10 years by tiring to bring the system online before it was ready purely for the political benefit.
How in the world did we let Clinton get away with all those crimes against the nation I have no idea.`
Oh and lets not forget to add the crime of refitting the strategic bombers to deploy conventional munitions, and replacing laser guided with cheap JDAM GPS guided smart bombs.

And most important. The one blunder that Bush really should be impeached for is the scraping of the scram jet program. Back in the Clinton year there was an idea to build an air breathing rocket motor capable of reaching speeds of over 12 times the seep of sound. But big problem, the air frame for such a vehicle would cost no less than 15 billion just to develop, so Clinton decided that rather that develop the air frame we would just develop the engine and strap it to the nose of a missile for testing. Cheap and doable. Those scram jet missiles were sitting in hangers somewhere waiting for their first test when Bush came to power and canceled the program outright. Why? easy Clinton has sold the project as a civilian project to build a commercial aircraft that would fly NY to Tokyo in just two hours, or something like that, but of course the real reason was to build missiles and aircraft capable of reaching any capital in the world with a few hours notice. Imagine being able to put your plane in the air and over a target in less than two hours anywhere on the planet. But Bush in his infinite wisdom canceled the damn project for three years, it took a flight by the Australians and one by the Russians to wake the fool up and restart the old Clinton idea.
I had another one but now I have forgotten what it was.
