Dear Family and Friends

"Many apologies for not having come here and posted something sooner. For some reason it has been difficult to write.

Nothing bad has happened.

Maybe now that my little part of the war is coming closer to an end my mind is elsewhere. Thoughts now go to the future though I do my best to stay in today.

It seems we are busier than ever. Temperatures are well over a hundred degrees during the day. The other day a friend remarked that he now worries about being killed when before he didn’t care. I think that is all a part of becoming “short”, the term for ones tour nearing an end."
