Three Years, Confusion, Policy, and Lip Service From All
"I have done several interviews with the media from NPR to the latest from the Washington Post. Again, no one seems to get it. I give a 2 hour interview and I get quoted talking about Joe's getting laid and Army morality. Every story running is either quoting Bush and his mistake or screaming how they support the troops. Then there's Fox News.
Most soldiers I talk to fall into one of three groups. First are the die hard supporters. Guys who claim to "hate the Hajj" but really only do so because they think it's their job to. This is about 10%. Second are the anti-war, Bush is full of shit, no war for oil crowd. These guys see no good at all even if they were part of it. This is about another 10 or so percent. The rest are guys who do their job and seem to be the most confused. The right is saying "Yay Bush" but they see holes in the story. The left is screaming bring our soldiers home while some wear shirts saying "Germans Supported Their Troops Too" and claiming to speak for a relatively conservative military. Don't worry guys, there's no draft coming. College campuses and wanna-be hippies take note."
