Backing away from Bush

On NBC's "Meet the Press" Jan. 29, Frist said, "I would have probably put more troops in [Iraq] if the decision had been up to me." He said the White House is not cooperating with Hurricane Katrina investigations by Congress. As for the Bush budget, he said: "We are spending too much in Washington, D.C." He suggested his and the White House's position in the Terri Schiavo case was wrong. On NBC's "Today" program the next day, when asked about the administration's National Guard policy, Frist replied: "I am opposed to cutting the Guard myself."

Frist as majority leader has vigorously supported the president's programs. Frist would not be in the post if Bush had not withdrawn support from Sen. Trent Lott as majority leader after the 2002 elections.

This idiot has some nerve to come out now and say much of what we have all been saying for the last 5 years, "what a moroon"

It's pre-election time. We'll hear more of these statements in the coming months.

I can't believe I'm already talking about election 2008.

The good thing is I think people are waking up to the fact that elections are important and the results will impact your life, hopefully they will get off their ass and vote.

We need to run some photos of Iraqis voting in Iraq. It may motivate Americans to vote.

Iraqis put us all to shame. I'm proud of them even though I'm not happy with whom they voted for.

That won't work with Americans, you have to make it real and imminent. Those purple fingers are just so third world, and it might just put people off. your only hope would be to have "Vogue" parade models down the runways with purple fingers, or something to make it the "in thing".

Will and Me have been sparing a little, here did you read it?
