UPDATE: News story and MilVets press release

"U.S. MILITARY VETERANS OF COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY (MILVETS)

PRESS RELEASE

Veteran and military-related students are arranging to meet with senior university administrators to discuss antimilitary discrimination on the Columbia campus. In the Fall of 2005, a Columbia student was verbally attacked by other students for being a U.S. Marine. This incident has been covered by The Columbia Spectator and Fox News.

U.S. MILITARY VETERANS OF COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY asks that Columbia University amend its Discrimination and Harassment Policy to grant all veterans and military-related persons protected status. Likewise, we hold the university responsible for promoting a military sensitive environment on campus and preventing further discrimination of veterans and military-related persons at the university."
My Learning Curve
I don't want to make light of this situation, but come on the Marine needs the faculty to give him protection from the campus lefties??
If you ask me this is another version of the war on Christmas, or If you elect Kerry they will make Bibles illegal and take your away. If that Marine doesn't feel safe at Columbia, call me, I'll offer him the necessary protection.
