'Once again on the eve of an important election, UBL has bailed out the Republican Party in general and President Bush specifically. His latest message is truly a late Christmas gift to the President and his supporters in Congress just like last time. It is the best possible scenario for him in two major ways. First, his “truce” offer cannot be seen as anything but a sign of weakness, especially coming on the heels of having four top AQ leadership figures been sent unceremoniously to Allah to receive their “reward”. In a negotiation, silence is golden. The first person to speak in this situation can only be construed as negotiated against himself. This is precisely what UBL has done."
Froggy
And Boy did they need some bailing!

You may not be reading froggy correctly, I can assure you Froggy is as much a "true believer" as anyone I know, right wing, Christian conservative, homophobe the hole nine yards and then some. He's a good old boy, you two would get along fabulously.
I don't see OBL as strengthening Bush as much a exposing his failures, but Froggy wants to spin in the best light possible.
I'm familiar with Froggy and don't accept your description of him, or me inferrentially, of being homophobic
Don't take offense
Seeking special status under the law for sexuality is just stupid and is a slippery slope we don't need
I wonder what you mean by special status?
iresponsible promiscuous behavior that is common among that group is the primary cause for a vast majority of the incredible costs associated with treating certain STD's,
The majority of people with aids are straight, viruses don't discriminate. That may have been true a long time ago with the introduction of the STD, but because gays only make up about 6% of the population the number of people in other groups, most of which as you say engage in behavior which is dangerous. But the virus itself does not know the difference.
The bill of rights makes no special provisions for them, but it applies to them just as much as it does me. So there. That ain't phobic
I'm glade to hear you say it, so I guess you would also agree that gays have every right to help in the defense of their country just as any one else.
but it's a good easy cheap shot that some like to throw around.
This is a blog remember.
I think they are largely ignored as it is.
If you consider a which hunt as largely ignored, I'll point you the liberal milblogger, I have to find the link.
Having to serve in the closet is not equality, there are significant consequences. For one it's easier to discriminate on the population in general when members can not be activist in full military garb, and openly display medals and commendations. What the conservative fear most, is having to face decorated war vet when they campaign for things like the "Marriage Amendment".
