The "F Word"

""Iraq did not hold an election last week-it held a census," writes Nibras Kazimi in today's New York Sun (subscription needed, but you can get the article from Nibras's blog, Talisman Gate). It is my opinion that there is not a single breathing soul who knows more about the new Iraqi politics than Mr. Kazimi. He is absolutely right, this was a census.

Fraud is the new "f word" in Washington, do not say it in public because success in Iraq is determined by halting the insurgency through inviting Ba'thists to the new government and NOT establishing a liberal democracy that can serve as a model for the rest of the Middle East."
