Aso: PUK arrested members of 6th of August protest in Suleimani

"Suleimani (TheKurdistani.com) 8 August: The Suleimani based Kurdish newspaper “Aso” reported on Sunday that the security forces of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan had attacked protesters in the city of Suleimani in south [Iraqi] Kurdistan arresting at least one protester on the 6th of August 2005.

Aso reported that as protesters started to gather near Salim Street in Silemani, the security forces of PUK attacked the protesters, who were trying to hold a peaceful protest in support for the Kurds in Iran.
The PUK militiamen confiscated the protesters cameras and banners.

Aso reported that later PUK militiamen arrested Shahin Khalili, one of the men who was standing in the frontline of the protest and was sent to jail."
