It's the Americans' Fault?

"This evening friends told me they blame the Americans for today's attacks that killed at least 60 and injured more than 100 people. I asked why anyone would blame the U.S. when al-Qaeda proudly takes credit for the attacks.

"They are not helping the Iraqi people," one man said. "They leave the country without a government."
"You mean the elections?" I asked
"Yes," he said. "Why don't they help Allawi?"
"It's up to the Iraqis."
"It's as though the Americans started something and left it in the middle of the way," said a woman.
