My folks are happily married and great parents. I must admit we did have skeletons hiding in our closet. Our family is dysfunctional like many Arab families. Don’t get me wrong my parents are not unfaithful, drink, smoke, indulge in drugs or any taboo activities. My family is dysfunctional in the sense we are upfront about our family hatred towards our relatives to the extent we would murder them to feel better. My great uncle once chased his son with an AK47 and threatened to kill him for failing a class in his ‘a’ levels. My grandmother literally tried killing my mother and I when I was 2-3 years old. My grandmother took most of my mother’s marital assets and spent them on gold. My uncle verbally abused my African looking second cousin and continuously called her a nigger, coco cola, maid, a black girl and a servant continuously. This was party because my mother’s side of the family believe in White Supremacy, the common belief South Asians and Africans are a slave class. My uncle and cousin-in-law are both alcoholics.
