Has Military Blogger Michael Yon Officially Lost it?
"Some recent Facebook comments by Military Blogger Michael Yon have been making the rounds on the internet – both in the news and the blogs. And this time, Michael Yon could be running out supporters – including fellow military bloggers. On April 15, Michael posted the following comment to his Facebook page:
Life was good before I went to Iraq. But after three friends were killed during the GWOT, and my growing mistrust for the media and for the US Government/Military, I quit traveling the world and went to war. The United States was in peril. I am American. Today, I do not trust McChrystal anymore than some people trust the New York Times, Obama or Bush. If McChrystal could be trusted, I would go back to my better life. McChrystal is a great killer but this war is above his head. He must be watched.
Michael Yon’s dispatches, like many stories run by the MSM, have become the source for military news for many. Michael has been reporting from the frontlines for years and deserves praise for all he’s done, but when comments like these are posted without any supporting facts, he’s going to start losing trust among readers.
Does Michael owe it to his readers to provide some facts? I think so. His website michaelyon-online.com is visited by more than 100,000 readers per month. And while I don’t post opinion pieces, in my opinion I feel like Michael has a responsibility to his readers who rely on him for accurate reporting.
You really think people are going to take you seriously with comments like “McChrystal is a great killer but this war is above his head”?
And these aren’t Michael’s first. Chuck Ziegenfuss has a write up and analysis, along with links to other stories covering the recent Facebook comments.
I’ll tell you what, I really need to step up my game and start posting random tweets and Facebook comments about public figures like “so-and-so can’t even tie his own shoes, but he’s in charge of all these people” or “so-and-so is really an alien, just sayin’”.
Man, and here I was writing about military blogs and social media and only getting like 3 readers per day (Hi Mom)."

I'm guessing this is why he been thrown out of Afghanistan.
