PESHAWAR (Agencies) - America's B-52 heavy bomber aircraft, which can carry nuclear and conventional ordnance with worldwide precision navigation capability, was again seen hovering over Pakistan's tribal areas on Sunday.
The flights of US B-52 bomber, along other spy planes, continued over Fata for last several weeks, causing panic among the locals.
Quoting sources, a private TV channel reported that the US drones and B-52 warplanes were hovering over areas of North and South Waziristan and Kurram Agency for the last several weeks.

I think he 'gets' the fact that he needs a big win, NOW. O's political survival depends on his getting Osama, and if carpet bombing with B-52's can accomplish that, he'll do it. He could declare 'victory', get credit from the right and make noises about ending the war with the Left. He needs it and the Dems in Congress desperately need it next year.
I'm speculating they have some possible leads and will have immediate large scale strike capability overhead 24-7 just in case.
Well if you think carpet bombing is the solution, just let the Saudis do it for you. Wouldn't it be more efficient to just nuke those targets if FATA, I mean carpet bombing is not very effective in rural areas, no roads, railroads or factories, just mud huts and civilians.
It's likely that AQ wants just that response to further their cause.
How would the Saudis carpet bomb some remote village in N Pakistan? Would it work? If they have a reason to believe Osama is somewhere in a square mile area, hell yes it would work. One B52 can lay waste to a section of land in half a minute. If they know where he is, and they believe the people in the region know he is there, fuck em and let Mohammad sort them out. We've been trying the 'can't we all just get along' routine and yet AQ seems to just get bolder and stronger. I'm ready to try the 'fuck with me and die' routine for awhile. Of course that was my strategy 9 years ago and look how far we've come without it!
