Maybe because there was no reason to think they weren't US born? They both lived their entire lives in the US as did their parents (who were both US citizens at the time of their birth) and there are plenty of people around who have known them their entire lives. Maybe it would be REALLY stupid to have asked for a birth certificate, but maybe it should be made law that one be provided so people like the O cultists cant' hide behind their biggest shield-- RACISM? With O, there are 3 Kenyan relatives who are on record as having said they remembered when O was born in Kenya. There are so many reasons to doubt his US birth that I won't even start listing them, you can look them up yourself. The biggest question I have is, why would he REFUSE to provide a long form birth certificate? All he would have to do is sign a release and end this immediately. You can't get some jobs in Hawaii without a long form certificate. You can't get Native American citizenship without a long form certificate. But you CAN be US President without proving a damn thing even though the job requirements are part of the founding documents? He's either lying or an incredibly arrogant son of a bitch--- or both.
Why didn't the state of Hawaii raise any concerns? Don't you think that if someone claimed to be Hawaiian but wasn't that the state would speak up? And if someone tried to pass off a fake certificate, the state police would investigate?...

Yeah, O is being called out and not bush or Clinton because of racism. That makes more sense than the facts....The birth cert he has provided was genuine and Hawaii vouched for it.. but, turns out any child under the age of three could get a Hawiian birth cert, regardless of place of birth at that time. A long form birth cert has place of birth, attending med professional, etc. Several positions and official status require a long form rather than a short form for a reason.
I don't want O defeated this way, but there are real questions that could be answered with O allowing the long form cert, if one exists. to be viewed publicly. Why wouldn't he? Arrogance or to hide something, or both--- what else?
Watching him on the cop issue proves he's an arrogant son of a bitch, and he lies like one who believes his own bullshit--- but is he a Natural born citizen as is required by the Constitution? Shouldn't he be willing to allow to be seen what would seem is a basically a small thing -- a long form birth certificate?

I was reading the police report on the smoking Gun, and I found a curiosity in the case, the cop asked/tricked Gates to get him outside, just so he could trump up a disorderly charge..and this morning I heard the cop talking about how he was just doing his job and wanted to make it back home to his wife and kids...so this cop was afraid of a 58 yearold man...shouldn't he be thinking of getting another job?
But of course I am bias, I'm Cuban, and have been on the receiving end of "protect and serve" several times.

You might laugh, but it's no small matter, I almost got shot, twice for that offence, I had one pull his weapon, and one unstrap it from his holster. Had a boat seize out from under me..Maybe I should have had my long form tile with me.

Guess what? I look White, for the most part, and I have had cops point cocked weapons at me--twice! for things I was innocent of. also had them try to steal my custom van--bought used two days earlier-- cuz I was traveling the interstate in TN with Texas plates at 3 am and the sniffer dog hit on residue in the carpet! Lot's of profiling, and it isn't limited to 'minorities'. It sucks and I hate it with a passion, but we all get some of it one way or another. If you are doing something common to criminals (like being black in a white neighborhood or traveling a drug highway at peak hours from states bordering Mexico), then they are going to check you out. I don't fault the brutha for getting irate, but making it all about race instead of a police state in general. And if you get all stupid in your protest, take it like a man and don't hide behind racism.--- do it on the principle of liberty for all. We're all taking it up the freedom ass.
And getting pulled over because you are from TX at 3 am isn't the same thing as getting questioned because you were seen prying a door open. A white man would have been questioned too, just wouldn't have gotten nearly as arrogantly insulted as this elitist asshole apparently did.
Yeah right, I am sure that is the cop had showed up and seen a clean cut white guy prying the door, he would of offered him assistance, and just assumed that the guy had lost his keys.
And why the fuck would a cop pull someone over for driving down the road? What ever happened to probable cause, and don't say the drug problem because those policies have failed miserable, and do nothing but support the industrial corrections industry, which the cops actually work for. If you were an insurance agent and an insurance contractor they would charge you with fraud.

Probable case in my instance was going 3 miles an hour over the speed limit. And because I was from Texas, dark tan, 3am on the drug freeway to the East--- why not see if his dog can hit on something? If he gets a bust, a really nice custom van and nearly a grand in cash goes to the dept and the judge who signs the order. Does O oppose confiscation of property without due process? I haven't heard him bringing it up....
Yes, if a cop caught a white guy trying to pry his way in, he would ask for some proof of residence. If the guy took an ongoing aggressive attitude, he would get arrested. Probably quicker, as a matter of fact. They'd probably figure it was a domestic dispute or something, but they would damn sure treat him with suspicion. Is that stupid? No, assume the worst is the safe way to go for a cop. Is it right? NO. If this guy's house had been broken into, he would yell racism, too. He's just a professional race pimp--- makes his loiving of of victemhood.
And profiling isn't stupid--- It's smart. Getting caught doing it is stupid. You stop 100 cars with Hispanic or Blacks or 100 cars with Whites, which group do you think will yield the greatest number of busts? Facts are facts, PC considerations aside.
Well that depends, are we talking white collar crimes, or petty larceny, if you asked for everyone's tax returns instead of looking through the ash tray what do you think your statistics would show?
The biggest tax cheat scam going is the child tax credit and earned income credit--- so who gets that ? Besides, we're talking about burglary and property crimes, aren't we?

Every president in US history that was reportedly fathered by a foreigner to a teenaged mother who spent several years of the future president;s life outside the US and who was apparently given Indonesian citizenship as a youth and who has relatives who have claimed to have attended his birth in Africa should have to provide a simple birth certificate to prove NATURAL born citizenship. ALL of them. It hasn't been a question about other presidents because NONE of those facts or even remotely similar facts existed in their case. Had he been born to a German father and did not have ANY proof of having been born in the US and was a right wing Republican, it would be a different story, wouldn't it? Not for me, but for those like you I suspect you'd be leading the charge demanding proof that the Constitution was being followed. I just read that Hawaii confirms he has a short form Hawaiian birth certificate, but won't reveal what it says. It proves nothing anyway. And, they now claim the long form which shows location and witnesses has disappeared. So, there is no proof, no witnesses, just relative statements saying he was born in Kenya--- and they were shut up last year. It means nothing to me except it proves he is an arrogant, elitist prick who does not believe in the basic tenets of American society, regardless of where he was born--- the rules do not apply to him.

Palin is irrelevant unless she can find a way to make herself relevent. I think she believes that the party system is out of favor and independence, even if affiliated loosely with a party, is the way of the future. Or maybe she just thinks the system stinks and wants out. We'll see.

I wasn't all that interested in the birther thing until today arguing with you--or myself. After reading that fact filled article and other things, such as the existence of a letter where O claims to have been born in a particular Oahu hospital which they now won't acknowledge as genuine--- I think the guy is likely ineligible. That makes all laws and treaties signed by him invalid by law. Again, either he is a phony and a criminal, or he's an arrogant son of a bitch. There is no other explanation--- his BC does not back up his story, regardless where he was born. And I can see only one good reason for him to lie-- he wasn't born in Hawaii. I guess it could show his claimed father was not, in fact, his father, but why go to this extent to hide that?

You have no idea what the hell you just 'read', apparently. They quote the Hawaiian statutes describing the different forms of Birth certificates and it is apparent that O does not have the certificate that he would have were he born in a Hawaiian hospital which would have the signatures of drs or midwives or attending nurses. The Hawaiian ancestry portion of the statute has no relevance to his case. The BC he has is likely the same one any child under the age of three could have received at the time which only says he existed in Hawaii at the time, not that he was born there. That explains why they refuse to acknowledge that O wrote a fund raising letter stating his place of birth was in a particular hospital when they have no record of his having been born there.
Tell me, why do you think he refuses to allow his official copy of his birth certificate to be released? This is starting to hit the networks, even, and all he has to do is sign a form to end it. The simplest explanation is the most likely.
