Is firing rounds at a detainee, torture?
No. I wouldn't approve of it for entertainment purposes, but in worst case scenarios where you really need to know something now and you are certain the guy knows something that could save lives--- get after it! I know three guys who went through Navy SEER training and they all were waterboarded, slapped around, kept awake for days. Were they tortured? They don't think so. But one of them admitted they would have admitted to anything to get it to stop, including the truth if that was the only way to get it to stop. It works. They whole thing is stupid and ridiculously naive. Ok, the guy we wantis in a house full of women and children-- fire away and kill em all! We do that on a fairly regular basis and know it's justified. But you scare a murderous lil bastard into telling you what he knows and it becomes a national scandal? And these self righteous Muslims should shut the fuck up already. compared to what went on before and goes on right now-- not to mention what was done to US UNIFORMED prisoners in the first gulf war.... don't get me wrong, I wouldn't do what some of those NG idiots did and don't think I would have kept my mouth shut had I seen it, but WAY too much is being made of it. Stop apologizing and tell the rest of the world to look to themselves first.
