.Dad, daughter set for Guard duty in Iraq
HARTFORD, Conn., May 20 (UPI) -- A Connecticut National Guard private says she and her dad will be looking out for one another once they get to Iraq.
PFC Samantha Young, 19, of Oneco, will ship out next week with her father, Sgt. 1st Class Brian Young, along with the other members of their military police battalion.
Samantha told WSFB-TV, Hartford, she knows her dad will have her back and she will have his during the deployment.
"That's what my mom told me to do," she said.
WSFB said Wednesday the Youngs will be posted to the same base but are assigned to different units, so they won't see each other constantly.
