Navy Diverts Kearsarge
"Since early August the assault ship Kearsarge (pictured), based in Virginia, has been touring Latin America, delivering free medical and engineering assistance to impoverished communities. It’s all part of the Navy’s emerging “soft-power” strategy for winning hearts and minds to prevent conflicts.
Now, with storms lashing the Caribbean and U.S. East Coast, the soft-power strategy is getting a big test: Kearsarge has been ordered to Haiti to help with storm recovery."
War is Boring
No need to worry, the Russians are going send aid. As a matter of fact, the new storm Hurricane Ike is headed straight for Cuba. Which if you remember was just battered by the last storm. Now Ike is threatening to shrike the island from one end to the other. Cuba may need to rebuild it's entire electric grid, from scratch, come Wednesday.
Russia is going to need to send a fucking armada of aid to Cuba should Ike hit it hard.
We offer our prayers for anyone in the Caribbean hit by a storm, and for all the needy waiting for help, from their friends. We pray that aid comes in time.

You can have the guns, I want one of those
