A Journey into the Heart of Darkness: The 2008 GOP Platform
"The GOP has released their 2008 platform(pdf) in time for the convention. While there's a lot of reasons to blow off the Republican party this election cycle (dude, $9.6 Trillion national debt, WTF!), I figured it'd be good to at least hear them out and give it a quick analysis. Tomorrow we'll be looking at the Dems platform from my own warped perspective.
For the purposes of scientifically analyzing the major components of the platform, we'll be using the following scale:"
LT Nixon Rant's
"and I'll always have a place in my heart for the GOP on national security since they supported the Iraq mission during the Surge."
could you provide any evidence of that.

What are you talking about, MT? Why did the numerous senate resolutions against the surge fail to pass? Every democrat voted in favor of a no confidence resolution, enough repubs and Joe Lieberman opposed. How can you take any other position than one you demand has to be 'proved'?
Well I may have misread the line. I see now that he talks about support during the surge, and not support for the surge in the fist place. I remember wanting a surge for years, and having to wait till they fired Rummy to even get a republican to admit that the mission was not really mission accomplished already.
I want to add that I define "surge" like David Axe
Under that definition, I wonder?
