"Well, LT G got the order from his chain-of-command to delete his blog. I guess no longer posting wasn't good enough. Luckily though, our friend MadBeard (the computer programmer who lives in Poland) archived it first, for posterity's sake. After all, the internet is forever!

After he deleted his blog, I registered this domain site in my name.

LT G is doing fine, and is still with the Gravediggers. I will do my best to keep all his loyal readers up-to-date on their happenings, when I have the time. Even though I'm not in the Army, I promise to follow OPSEC, I know how important that acronym is.

Thank you for everyone's kind words and support, both with our engagement and my fiancé's blog situation. LT G wants everyone to know he's still writing in his free time! In the mean time, I will do what I can.

I am almost to the point where I might start doing the same.. Instead of quoting just a few words and a link, I may just start copying all the text..don't know. I do know one thing. They can never take from me what I have already read, no matter how many times they try to delete.

The only problem I see here, is that as a girlfriend, she might fall under the militaries authority and be forced to delete anyway..She could put LT G and herself at jeopardy of losing benefits and be in violation of the mlblogging regulations, linked somewhere on this blog....

Mad Tom,
Raison d'etre for my posts?

I spent the last two years doing research, rather than blogging, so my writings are a product of that research.

I'm going through the material I accumulated over the past years. After five years of the Iraq conflict, one can be in a retrospective mood and look at a sequence of events.

Also, trying to make use of the copious notes I took from the many books I read on the Middle East and Central Asia. I am hoping to write about Central Asia too. It is very interesting, with many stories to be told...
