global war on food

"
The day before Christmas we had a short mission, nothing too hard, other than having to eat some more of the local Afghan food. On this day the locals we were having a meeting with served us lunch, they do this every once in a while. Unfortunately for me it was my first solid lunch I was going to eat after 2 days of wrestling with a bad case of food poisoning, from our early Christmas party dinner we had which included a bit of local food. After not being able to hold anything down for a whole day and then weening my stomach back to health with crackers and other snacks I ate a small breakfast that morning.

So by lunch I was starving and didn’t care what I was eating, I rolled the dice again. I stuck to mostly the bread and rice, and ate minimal amounts of the mystery meat and unknown vegetables."
