Phony Soldier?
Dear Friend,
You've heard a number of times from Jon Soltz of VoteVets.org. Do you consider him a phony soldier?
According to Rush Limbaugh, Jon Soltz, an Iraq war veteran, is a phony soldier. Today, Media Matters reports that Rush Limbaugh said that those troops who come home and want to get America out of the middle of the religious civil war in Iraq are "phony soldiers."1
The question is, would Rush make these outrageous and offensive comments to Jon's face?
Take action now. Email Rush Limbaugh and urge him to invite Jon Soltz onto his radio show!
Rush Limbaugh has never worn the uniform in his life, yet he's got the moral standing to pass judgment on the men and women who risked their lives for this nation?
Polls have shown that the majority of troops on the ground in Iraq, and those who have returned, do not back the President's failed policy.
Does Rush believe, then, that the majority of the US Armed Forces are "phony?"
Major Generals John Batiste and Paul Eaton left the military and have spoken out against the Bush Administration's failed policies. These are former commanders in Iraq, and they have challenged the Administration for its stubborn refusal to listen to those commanders on the ground who have sent up warning after warning.
Does Rush believe that highly decorated Major Generals are "phony soldiers?"
Finally, recall the members of the 82nd Airborne in Iraq who wrote a New York Times op-ed, urging for a change in course in Iraq, and suggesting it was time to figure out the exit strategy. Two of them just died.
Does Rush believe these young troops are "phony soldiers?"
My challenge to you is to force Rush to invite Jon Soltz onto his show and say all of this again, right to the face of someone who served in Iraq.

Democracy demands discussion, disagreement, and dissent. It is the natural expression of our freedom. To dishonor the service of our troops because they have a different viewpoint is unconscionable. Thank you for speaking out.
Sincerely,
Wes Clark

You're right - most soldiers think Bush is a total nob. So Rush thinks the majority of our soldiers are phony. What a moron!
Really? Because in 2004, the military vote for bush was 5-1 over Kerry, as I recall.
Picking Bush over Kerry, says nothing about what they might have thought of Bush. Only that they preferred him over Kerry.
I know that in the next round of elections I will be voting for the candidate I like the most over the rest, and at teh same time, the one I like the least.
CALLER 2: No, it's not, and what's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.
LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.
CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country.
LIMBAUGH: They joined to be in Iraq. They joined --
CALLER 2: A lot of them -- the new kids, yeah.
LIMBAUGH: Well, you know where you're going these days, the last four years, if you signed up. The odds are you're going there or Afghanistan or somewhere.
CALLER 2: Exactly, sir.
OK, from that we come up with Rush Limbaugh is calling all soldiers who are anti-war phony? I don't listen to the guy, but this is complete fabrication of fact if this is the quote they are using to make the claims. You know damn well this was likely related to the phony blogger and a couple of phony soldiers who were the darlings of the leftist media for a while, not ALL anti-war soldiers. And since you have to know it, why play the dishonest game with them? don't you have something real you can use to push the agenda?
Will it's right there
"They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media."
"LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers."
If you talk to the media your phony
Would you like the link to some Anti war soldier, there are a few on the sidebar, and a few in my head, but you must have seen them before, I been posting them forever.

"diapered"
I think I saved a few to many keystrokes. "disappeared"
'diapered' was an anti-troops slip up---- you can't fool me!
That was just funny, I don't care what your agenda is. I don't see many new blogs, either. Maybe they are getting tired of being used by all sides?
Me anti-troops, no one would believe that, now and anti government Freudian maybe.
I doubt it Will, they all would just love to be the next cbftw and get out the other side with a book deal and new truck, who wouldn't?
Well you managed to get me to listen to rush today, Mad tom---- turns out I was exactly right about this episode. He replayed the statement surrounding the excerpts and there is no doubt that when he referred to 'phony soldiers' he was referring to the Jesse Macbeth types-- in fact, he named him in particular as an example of the type of 'soldier' that the leftists are interested in. I assume you didn't know that, because you wouldn't knowingly take part in such a blatantly trumped up controversy, would you?
Well maybe you should have listen more carefully. To accept Rushes explanation you have to accept that when he said "Soldier[s]" he misspoke and used the plural, but was referring only to MacBeth witch he claims was the context of the conversation. I guess we will have to take his word.
But Rush is a wordsmith so you have to accept that he misspoke. I guess it can happen to anyone..
I could be wrong I guess, I never heard Rush use the word "types", his claim is MacBeth in the singular.
It would not hurt you to listen to Rush more often anyway, so if anything this has been a learning experience for you.
Ok believe it or not, my plural argument has been heard all around the world. Not really sure if I was the first, or the only one to make the argument, but Rush had to go on and on and on today to try to overcome this issue. In the end after hours of non stop Phony Soldier(s) Rush admitted on the air that during that mornings broadcast there had been no discussion of Macbeth
MacBeth had only been discussed during the pre show, ditto head podcast, that goes out only to subscribers.
So after going on and on, he admitted that MacBeth was not the issues, Turns out that now he was talking about every other "Phony Soldier(s)" that have been in the news over the last couple of years, and stuff he sends out to his ditto head subscribers, but not about anything which had been talked about on the air during that mornings show... Ditto Rush.
