Try Iraq brand of 'democracy' here at home
Recently, President Bush said that the Iraqi government needs an oil policy that distributes the wealth from Iraqi oil to the Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds equitably.
Doesn't sound like the free-market system that undergirds our "democracy," but it sounds like a great idea for our own oil companies to try.
Maybe Bush is backing off this "democracy in the Middle East" thing after all; this sounds like socialism.
We can start by having the Democrats repeal the tax breaks and subsidies given to the oil companies by the Republicans. Another step would be for the government to skim some profits off the top and give them to the most needy to help them pay their heating bills.
Let's bring this idea home, Mr. Bush. At least one good thing might come out of this Iraq occupation after all.
