Christmas Eve in Paradise

27 Weeks in Afghanistan
I was finally able to get a full night’s sleep. Yay! Today is Christmas Eve, but most of us at CMA had to work anyway. We went to load cargo onto trucks again at the airport. I love going out there, working with our ANA troops in front of the NATO troops, showing them what we can do. The Afghans are looking really sharp. They show up on time, get the cargo tied down quickly, and deliver it efficiently. It is very gratifying to see them in action, doing such a good job. It is also very cool indeed to be at the airport working with the NATO troops. A British forklift driver was loading our trucks today, while a Turk was manning the desk for the cargo operations area. I watched a Canadian C-130 taking off, and as always, saw many other nationalities represented. The world is really involved here, and you can’t see it any better than at the airport. On the way home it started to snow, and it’s still coming down, so it looks like we will have a white Christmas."
